More About the Position

Essential Responsibilities

  • Actively consult with clients to understand their business strategies, needs, and goals and identify opportunities for business intelligence to address each.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the client’s specific operational practices to discern and collect accurate data.
  • Review and understand database structures to generate data sets and integrate various reporting components from multiple data sources.
  • Select an appropriate combination of methods and tools to ensure optimal scalability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain protocols for properly extracting, transforming, and loading data.
  • Ensure measures are taken to provide ongoing quality assurance of imported data.
  • Create best-practice dashboards, visualizations, and reports within Tableau.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex data sets.
  • Continually gather needs requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships.
  • Work with leadership to identify critical metrics and KPIs to deliver actionable insights.
  • Investigate and communicate areas that provide increased value, efficiencies, and productivity improvements.

Skills & Abilities

Technology

  • High level of competency in building and designing Tableau visualizations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to transform raw data into decisions.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and ability to learn other analytic tools.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Experience with multiple VPN connections, remote connections, and general computer skills.
  • Experience with Python a plus.
  • Familiarity with other business intelligence tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI) is a plus.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Two plus years of business experience in data analysis.
  • Two plus years of expertise in using Tableau for data visualization and reporting in a business setting.
  • Background in agricultural cooperatives or agribusiness is desired.

Physical/Work Demands

  • Must be able to walk, sit, or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work long hours at a computer to meet commitments.
  • Attend and lead regularly held virtual client meetings.
  • Occasional travel is required.
